Fusion Maia Hoi An

Ok, I am happy to throw it out there - Fusion Maia is the best hotel experience I've had the pleasure of having!

From the moment you check in to Fusion Maia there's this sense that your relaxation is the only thing that's important. First you're introduced to your ‘Fusionista’, who's pretty much at your beck and call, you have their mobile number should you need anything during your stay! Your first spa treatments are booked in prior to your arrival and you're shown to your pool villa. Every villa in the resort is a private pool villa.

The Fusion Maia is Asia's fist All-Inclusive spa Resort, you're guaranteed 2 treatments per day but can often get more if any of the 80 therapists are available.

The grounds of Fusion Maia are spectacular, if you've had enough of your private plunge pool you can enjoy the huge infinity pool that seems like it spills into the South China Sea at one end. Lounging options are abundant around the pool and on the beach. There's also a smaller pool with a waterfall in the spa for before or after your treatments.

One of the things that surprised me was the focus on wellness, there are programs centered around a theme of the day such as yoga, tea for wellness talks, breathing classes and circuit classes.

The Fusion Maia buffet breakfast is up there with the best I've seen - absolute foodie heaven. Again there's the underlying wellness theme with fresh squeezed juices and instructions on how to mix for a variety of results. My fav - the kidney cleanse which consisted of 1/3 carrot, 1/3 beetroot and 1/3 cucumber - delish!

Fusion promote the 24 hour breakfast. There's the buffet breakfast, you can get set breakfasts delivered to your room, choose to have it by the pool or, as we did, organise a private breakfast on the beach. This is free of charge and just needs to be booked one day in advance.

The main attraction in the centre of Vietnam is, of course, the historical town of Hoi An. What we opted for, and I can definitely recommend, was to do 3 nights staying in Hoi An old town to get all of your shopping, sightseeing etc done. Then finish with 3 nights at Fusion on the way home. If you haven’t had enough of Hoi An there's a free shuttle that runs a couple of times a day to the old town and free of charge bikes to take from the drop off point (as well as another spa for express treatments!).

I can’t recommend this resort highly enough and am already planning my return.

I love her wholesome approach to food, life and adventure, and it's a highlight of my week to follow her travels to places I'd rather be.
