We spent an unforgettable evening with Urban Forage Food, weaving through the backstreets of Phnom Penh to uncover the city's real culinary soul. Forget the strict European food safety regulations for a night, the best flavors are found right on the sidewalk, served with a side of local atmosphere. We pushed our limits and faced the "crunch", finally winning the fear and trying grasshoppers. It turns out, they're the perfect savory snack once you take that first brave bite. From the crispy, golden Banh Chao crepes to the perfectly grilled meats, every stop was a revelation. A massive thank you to Jackson for the incredible guiding and all the useful information. Some really delicious food in places we wouldn't normally have eaten and a couple of extra 'surprises' too!! Lots of beer or water to drink on the way round too! My husband is vegetarian and on almost all the stops Visal arranged for a vegetarian option for him. Was a fantastic tour with Panha and "Mr Bean". They informed us of pickup in advance, ensured we had enough water, explained us the food and took us to places we would have never found ourselves. Amazing variety of food. Loved trying the dishes! Cambodian food is diverse and really tasty! EXCELLENTVerified Fantastic experience We had the most amazing evening touring Phnom Penh by tuk tuk with our fabulously knowledgeable and highly engaging guide Panya. From street food to sampling unusual fruits at the market to a restaurant serving traditional Cambodian dishes and ending at a great cocktail garden we loved every minute and every mouthful. Don’t miss it. There were 8 people total and all of the food was awesome. We even made an impromptu stop at the bug stand for some crickets, frogs, worms, etc. the night was awesome including the final drink at the Wild cocktail bar. to Viator, I would recommend skipping the full sit down meal at stop 5. It was too much food and unecessary and we all preferred the traditional street food stops. Jackson and the drivers did everything to make this a fantastic night and ensured that we wanted for nothing. We enjoyed driving around the city and sampling such a wide range of food. The places he took us were places we would not have found on our own. Jackson also did a great job of arranging for the preparation of dishes suitable for a nut allergy. Jackson was our guide, who was great fun, very chatty and very informative to all our questions. He explained about the areas and the food we were eating. We were a party of 9 which was great as we got to chat to everyone and that made it also a fun evening. We tried all sorts of food which we possibly wouldn't order , but now have some confidence in ordering in restaurants or getting street food. Which since we have done !! Some of the photos are of Russian Market and what we saw, not what we ate, so don't worry ... We are going to Vietnam and will definitely do this again there.
