EXCELLENT Based on 810 reviews Posted on Amelia StroudTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had great fun on the tour - Jackson brought the energy and there was a good amount of places and variation. As he does other tours, there was also a depth of information he gave when speaking about the history of some places/food. His English was very good which was an added bonus! Lots of funny slang.Posted on Jessica AspTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The market we were taken to was perfect - so many things to see and not filled with tourists. The food was delicious (best coffee of my life). Seeing the street art and hearing the sprites of activism was a glimpse into history that I would not have known of otherwise. Jackson was an excellent host. Highly recommendPosted on Bertrand SavaritTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellente matinée marchés et street art accompagné par notre guide JB au français impeccable. Nous étions en famille avec nos trois enfants qui ont passé un très bon moment. Nous recommandons !Posted on Jeff HockertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jackson is Cambodia's ambassador of food and drink! He explained the preparation of every dish and explained the cultural significance. Every restaurant was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour.Posted on Lesley SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic experience. Highly recommend. Jackson is a superb guide and ensured we had a good night. A must do when in Phnom PenhPosted on Monique WooTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This tour is a really great way to try some local food without the pressures of trying to order yourself! We had Jackson as our tour guide, and he was really knowledgeable about the food and culture. It’s a long tour but it goes by fast because you’re just bouncing around to multiple places. Riding around in the tuktuks is also such a superior way of getting around to these places. Would highly recommend!Posted on Diane LamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a great experience. Jackson is caring, funny and so informative of the culture and food. He also knows how to bring people together. A very memorable experience!Posted on Alexis WilsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did two tours - street art & the food tour. Both very different - both excellent. One was in a large group and one was one on one. I can't wait to return to try their new colours of Phomh Penh tour. One tour I had an engaging chat with the host 1:1 and learned a lot, the other I met a fabulous group of people and we all hit it off laughing and chatting. Do it & fall more in love with Cambodia.Posted on Cameron TolleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am so happy I booked this food tour while in Phnom Penh! It was everything I want from a food tour: An opportunity to see the city and explore different neighborhoods, going to restaurants that as a tourist I would probably never find on my own, and of course, eating so much amazing food. Each stop was great and able to accommodate me as a vegetarian. And I can't say enough good things about the guides for the tour - Panha and Bean. We ended up having a fairly large group and they led us with ease and kindness throughout the evening. Thank you both!Posted on TomTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a fantastic time on this Cambodian food tour in Phnom Penh and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. The tour took us to many unique places that we never would have discovered on our own, giving us a great look at local food and everyday life. Our guide, Jackson, made the experience especially memorable. His English was perfect, and he did a wonderful job explaining the food, the neighborhoods, and the culture behind everything we saw. He made the tour both interesting and easy to follow. We tried several different types of Cambodian dishes along the way, and one of the most memorable stops was a vendor who sold insects. The vendor himself was fascinating, and while there was absolutely no pressure to try anything, some people in our group did—and it turned into a really fun and memorable moment. Overall, this was a great experience and a highlight of our time in Phnom Penh. If you enjoy food, culture, and exploring places you wouldn’t normally find on your own, this tour is definitely worth doing.
EXCELLENT Based on 839 reviews Posted on Brandy OVerified Great food & Tips for Next Time Great experience to local places that were 'holes in the wall' with great tasting food! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great english. Tuktuks had unlimited beer. A few tips if I were to do it again: We did this when we first arrived. I would wait a bit for eating street food and let our stomachs catch up to the food. We ate SO much food. I would have rather paced myself and left some food at the beginning so I could eat more food at the end of the tour. If you are trying to do this on a smaller budget, you can do a food tour with a local Tuktuk driver or through Grab. Because of the curation of the restaurants, local food, and support for legitimate long time cooks - I would choose this tour again.Posted on Yuri LVerified A middling experience Good representation of Khmer food for first timers e.g. num banhchok in two different ways (plain and a version with curry), num pang etc and we weren't taken to tourist traps. I also thought it was neat that we had a spontaneous spot to see street art. However, I felt that there was context and depth lacking around the cuisine and stalls beyond being escorted around different food spots to feel like the tour actually added value and justified the price tag. For example, I knew about num pang's similarity to banh mi and the French colonial influence despite being a total newbie to Khmer/Cambodian cuisine, but I felt like fellow travellers would have benefited from this and other background. I have done food tours in Istanbul, Mexico City and Bangkok where I felt like I got more explanations with providers such as Culinary Backstreets. At one point, we waited about 15 mins to get to the final stop at Wild, a cocktail bar - it was pretty empty so I wonder whether it would have been possible to get there earlier as our group had finished eating. The tour is fine if you just want a local giving you a broad selection of dishes. I also didn't feel wowed by any of the food spots: they were alright to good, with the highlight being a roadside stall run by a lady serving dessert. I have no idea whether that is a popular dessert or what the name is, though. Really quite minor compared to the rest but it did leave an impression: I was the last to be dropped off by tuk-tuk and our guide left at the penultimate stop, but I felt that he was fairly cold while saying a final goodbye (no acknowledgement). It was late so I'm sure he just wanted to go home but could have been a little more professional. We also had a person from the Midlands in the UK and the guide several times (unsolicited) attempted a Northern accent (not even the same area!) probably to break the ice, which didn't receive any reaction so it would have been good to read the room. I know cultural sensitivity training isn't really a thing there, though and can't speak for my fellow traveller, but I did feel a bit awkward for him. Luckily I had great companions for my tour, so had a good experience because of them.Posted on Nicola SVerified Delicious and informative A great introduction into Cambodian cuisine. tried everything from local restaurants, street food and ended in a cocktail bar. Jackson was a great guide - and we tried everything on offer. Make sure to do this tour hungry!Posted on loulopsVerified Fantastic experience We had the most amazing evening touring Phnom Penh by tuk tuk with our fabulously knowledgeable and highly engaging guide Panya. From street food to sampling unusual fruits at the market to a restaurant serving traditional Cambodian dishes and ending at a great cocktail garden we loved every minute and every mouthful. This tour was the highlight of our stay in Phnom Penh.Posted on ROBERT HVerified Food , drink and song Had an amazing time with Jackson. All the food and more ?!?! Live music, and even Jackson singing didn't put us out food . Cocktail sat the end of evening was just 👍 Also the drivers added to the night , so safePosted on Louise LVerified Thoroughly recommend if you like food and booze! Excellent tour with sooo much amazing food! Plenty to drink as well and Tuk tuks are always fun. A great way to see the city at night and try places we wouldn’t normally have stopped at. Our guide Visal was very friendly, had excellent English, was easy to speak with and a great informative guide.Posted on Roam698925Verified Excellent, fun food tour We absolutely loved our food tour. Don’t miss it. There were 8 people total and all of the food was awesome. We even made an impromptu stop at the bug stand for some crickets, frogs, worms, etc. the night was awesome including the final drink at the Wild cocktail bar. to Viator, I would recommend skipping the full sit down meal at stop 5. It was too much food and unecessary and we all preferred the traditional street food stops. We also loved the beer cooler!!Posted on mackieVerified Fun way to get around Phnom Penh and eat Great way to experience night life in Phnom Penh- Suits all ages! Great selection of food and limitless beer if you can squeeze it in - amongst the limitless dishes! Some you’ll love some might raise an eyebrow or two - but fun and good to go with a group - no more than 8. And you stop for a last cocktail at a lovely bar that you’ll never find again!Posted on kazbohoVerified Fabulous experience! All we could eat and drink. Amazing evening! Jackson and the drivers did everything to make this a fantastic night and ensured that we wanted for nothing. We enjoyed driving around the city and sampling such a wide range of food. The places he took us were places we would not have found on our own. Jackson also did a great job of arranging for the preparation of dishes suitable for a nut allergy. The live entertainment was an added bonus as well as the special stops! He was so knowledgeable and willing to share. Our final cocktail stop was the cherry on the cake and a recommendation for our visit to Siem Reap. Thank you so much Jackson!Posted on Project CVerified Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely AMAZING experience! The Urban Forage Tour market & street art tour was packed with surprises from start to finish. We discovered places we would never have found on our own: local markets, hidden street food spots, and cool street art along the way. The guide was fantastic: super friendly, passionate, and full of great stories. We loved every minute of it and would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the city in a different, more authentic way!
